Breast’s come in all different sizes and shapes and often times they do not come in a matching pair. In fact, most women do not have symmetrical breasts. However, in the majority of these cases the difference between the two breasts is not concerning. Unfortunately, in some women the difference between the two breasts can be extreme and very noticeable. The difference can be in size and/or shape of the breasts and it can involve the breast mound, the breast position and/or the areola size.

The various procedures to correct breast asymmetry can be performed in many different combinations. Correction of breast asymmetry is not a simple operation and it should only be attempted by experienced breast surgeons. After the underlying causes of the asymmetry have been determined and/or ruled out, a surgical plan can be developed that will most effectively reshape the breasts in order to make them more symmetrical. These procedures could include a combination of breast lifting, breast reduction and/or breast augmentation.
